Bring in the New Year

So I taught my Yoga/Law of Attraction Class this week all on the message "What will you release from 2010? And what will you attract for 2011?

For me I will let go of "disappointment." I will no longer entertain people and energy suckers in my life who do nothing but drain my energy and leave me feeling weighted down with disappointing garbage. How about you what will you leave behind?

In place of disappointment I will pull into my life "opportunity. " Just by freeing up my time I can begin to take steps towards goals and tasks I may have been putting off.

Remember "where attention goes energy flows." What will you put your attention on this year?Spend some time pondering these questions the next few days, and make your 2011 exceptional.

Do something really wild. Sit down with a brand new journal and perhaps write down 100 goals or things you might like to do, be or have in your life. I do this every January 1st and it is awesome. It sets your year up for success. Enjoy the process and cherish the journey.

Happy New Year!!!

Perfect Peace Through The Holidays

Can you find your Perfect Peace within yourself during this holiday hustle and bustle? And if you can what would it look like? I'd like to share with you a story I read a few years ago about Perfect Peace. It's not exact but close to what I remember and what I like so much about it is it left me with clarity on Perfect Peace and what it might look like. So I hope you enjoy it.

A King asked his people to paint for him a picture reflecting their thoughts on what Perfect Peace would look like. So one by one they arrived showing him beautiful sunsets, wildflowers, forest scenery and beautiful clouds representing their thoughts on Perfect Peace. And the King admired all their work, but still was not convinced that what he saw really reflected Perfect Peace. He felt something was missing.

Then, finally the very last person to arrive showed the King a painting of a waterfall with a birds nest full of eggs and mother bird in it resting peacefully behind the waterfall. And the King said at last this is it, this is the picture of Perfect Peace.

For just like that bird who found peace and serenity even amongst the loud noise and commotion of water rushing past her. You too can sink within yourself and find your Perfect Peace. It doesn't matter how loud your environment gets. You have the choice to choose your state of mind.

Begin by paying close attention to your breath. Mindfully breathing in and out through you nose and bringing that breath into your belly making it expand on the inhale just like a balloon, and on the exhale pull your belly towards your spine, letting all the air out of the balloon through your nose. Begin with a 4/2 count, inhale for 4, hold for 2, exhale for 4. As you begin mastering that count move up to a 6/3 count. Inhale for 6, hold for 3, exhale for 6. Keep moving up the numbers as you see fit. Soon you will arrive at your Perfect Peace.

Peace be within you this holiday season.

Merry Christmas!

Fabric of Your Life

Inside each one of us is a unique fabric woven and designed specifically for you. Each thread, design, pattern, color and texture is a direct reflection of all the choices, opportunities, places, events and times of your life. And as each year goes by your quilt of humanity gets larger. This beautiful piece of fabric is such a work of art. Each color and thread and texture were chosen directly by you representing to you and the world the journey of your life. And this fabric you have designed is nothing short of breath taking just like your precious life. You were created by your almighty creator with such gifts that were meant to assist you in the design.  So for each challenge, opportunity, accomplishment and endeavor there is a pattern on this fabric representing what each of these things meant to you. So take the time in your mind to spread out your fabric and look deeply at the different designs and colors and take pride in knowing you have created this. Cherish your growth, embrace your mistakes, smile at your beauty, and take pride in your accomplishments. Take peace in knowing whole heartily that your fabric and quilt is absolutely breath taking.

Never under any circumstance be jealous of someone else's fabric or get caught in the foolish thinking that someone else's fabric is prettier or nicer than yours. No two quilts could ever be the same. And if  you really looked closely at the fabric  of others you are sure to find all the hidden flaws and marks that every quilt has. No one has a flawless fabric, and no one should ever want one. Because it is from those flaws that we learn and grow. Change is inevitable and it provides us the opportunity to see how far we've grown. Flaws help to build our strengths and develop are character. So again in your minds eye spread out your quilt and look at that beautiful piece of art with nothing but an open heart. And please experience the joy of laughter with your flaws. And please take nothing short of pride in wearing your fabric proudly for this is the authentic you. Enjoy your life and have fun creating you work of art.

Hitting the Wall

Life is full of the unexpected walls or barriers we so often run into. It is what we do when we hit those walls that matter. I love this quote from a yoga book and thought I would share it.

"Whatever it is you choose to do when you hit your wall, you can also soften toward yourself while you're doing it."

Going inside and practicing a little self acceptance can go along way. Take the time to be in the moment and just allow what is to be. Use a wall to literally lean upon and maybe sink into it for support. Maybe even think of the wall as a friend asking it questions like "what have you come to teach me. " The foundational support is there so close your eyes and rest against it. Slow down and connect with yourself. Behind every obstacle their is an opportunity so grab it. Enjoy life and learn to embrace those walls.

Lean into the wall ~~~Fall into your soul

Where Attention Goes Energy Flows

The Law of Attraction can be summed up with this phrase. "Where Attention Goes Energy Flows." In other words what you focus on you feel and it is those feelings that determine the emotions you will release.

Everything in life is made up of energy. We are all Energy/Emotional Beings vibrating at a positive or negative level. And just like a magnet we have the ability to draw into our lives whatever it is that we stay focused on. Unfortunately, most of us tend to pay close attention to the emotions that make us feel negative like stress, anger, sadness, etc.. and hardly pay attention to the emotions that make us feel good like love, happiness, gratefulness, etc.. When we are feeling good that is the time to pay close attention and create more of those feel good feelings. By just making this shift we can begin to create more in our lives.

The key to attracting the positive situations in your life is to tune into your intuition and follow the essence of your core being. Investigating the rules you have created in your life. Maybe make it easy to feel good and difficult to feel bad. After all we are the creators of our lives. So I ask you why not feel good? Do something wild and re-write your rules.

Sit down and ask yourself questions like "What is your definition for the various emotions you experience good or bad?" "How did you decide what was a good feeling or a bad feeling?" The key in that last question was "YOU" after all most of us have had someone else lay their beliefs about good and bad on us and we just followed along. Take the time to investigate your beliefs. Some will work well for you and others will not. You decide and create from there. Enjoy the process.

Perspective

Teachings of Abraham~~~Esther and Jerry Hicks

You cannot perceive life from any perspective other than from that of yourself...Selfishness is the sense of self. Unless you are selfish enough to care about how you feel-and therefore direct your thoughts in such a way that you are allowing a true connection to your Inner Being-you have nothing to give another anyway. Everyone is selfish. It is not possible to be otherwise.

Iceberg Metaphor

Love this part from my studies this week. Thought I would share it with you all. Enjoy

Another way to look at our "self" is with the old"iceberg" metaphor. With an iceberg, the part we see on the surface is only a very tiny portion of what lies beneath. People work in much the same way. In this analogy, our outward behavior, appearance (our persona) is only the visible tip of the iceberg.

What lies beneath the persona we present to the world is a gigantic mass of past programming, conditioning, cultural and societal expectations, experiences, fears, phobias and all the rest! The small part that shows is the result of MUCH MORE that exists beneath the surface.

Law of Attraction

"The Law of Attraction attracts to you everything you need, according to the nature of your thoughts. Your environment and financial condition are the perfect reflection of your habitual thinking." Joseph Murphy-(1898-1981)

Where attention goes energy flows.

Become conscious of your thoughts. If you are worried about things you are drawing those very events into your life to support your thoughts. Focus = Feelings and Feelings = Thoughts and Thoughts = Action.

Just a little food for thought. Enjoy and get control of your mind. You should be so busy minding you mind that you have no time to mind anyone else's business.

The Power of Attitude

Thought I would share some valuable tips from Earl Nightingale. I have been blessed with this incredible gift from one of my patients Mike D'Anna. His father and I shared books for many years and loved inspirational reads. Mr. D'Anna passed and Mike and I got to talking about his fathers love of books and mine as well. I mentioned to Mike that I would love to go through his fathers books when they were ready to get rid of them. Well Mike did something much greater than that for me. He found this old Earl Nightingale system with records and reading material from 1960 called "Lead The Field" and turned them into Cd's for me. I was so touched and grateful for this fabulous surprise. So now you all get to share with me some incredible teachings. I hope you enjoy it.

Attitude the magic word. At the beginning of a difficult task, what, more than anything else, will assure it successful outcome? Your attitude, the spirit you take into it will decide what you will get from the process. What all successful people have in common is a great attitude. In life this one factor is the you can definitely count on.

Why do some people seem to get old before their time, whereas others always seem to have a young and vibrant outlook? Their attitude about aging and the process. If you enjoy every birthday and forget about the number you will notice a huge difference in your attitude. Think about this every time you have a birthday it is a day of celebration for you are here on earth another year. Make the most of the gift you have of life and make a difference in those around you. Ask better questions like what can I do to serve someone else today?

Before a person can achieve the kind of life he wants, he must do what? See himself living that life. Envision his life in great detail all the things and events he has for this life. He must take with him on this journey his spirit and joy, along with the attitude of succeeding.

When someone treats you rudely or thoughtlessly, what is the attitude you should take towards him? You should not take it personally. You should smile and walk on. Easier said than done, but not if you know that for every action their is reaction. Let the universe take care of their matters. If you smile and walk on and not let them steal your joy and peace, that is much easier on you and your body than the turmoil you'll engage in by reacting in a similar fashion as theirs.

Just thought I would share what I took from this record/CD on Attitude and I will be sure to share much more. Enjoy! Life is a incredible journey.
