The Power Of Words

The moment you label an experience with a word the experience becomes your label. Think about that for a moment. Interesting isn't it? We respond so recklessly to situations and events in our lives with words that we don't even take the time to think about. So often we are responding on auto pilot with the limited vocabulary we have chosen to use. Most often we have picked up our words and slang from our peer groups and children. Well if words are so powerful than don't you think expanding our vocabulary is a priority for improving our experiences?

Take for instance this example two people get diagnosed with Cancer. While one person labels her experience as a gift, the other labels the experience as a Curse. Who's to say which one is correct. One thing is for sure and proven over and over again. The one who takes the dis-ease as a gift and looks for the hidden treasures is the one who survives and makes often times a full recovery. While the other who has chosen to label it a Curse makes the dis-ease a herendous journey and often times fails to recover.

We always have a choice to use our words wisely. So I ask you to think about the way you respond to all the situations and events in your life. Just by paying attention to the words you habitually use you can virtually change your life.

Today I wish you a extraordinary life. Please share with me some of the new empowering words you have adding to your vocabulary.

Enjoy Life,

Lori Meadows
